Embodied Awareness 200h YTT T&Cs 

1. These Terms

  • These are the terms and conditions on which (Shekhar Yoga) supplies the 200hr
  • Shekhar Yoga Teacher Training (the “Training”) to you (the “Student”).
  • Shekhar Yoga address is 12 Ash Grove Wivenhoe CO7 9HJ The Student can contact by post to that address, by email sent to faye@shekhar.yoga or by telephone on 07811112096.

 2. Payment

  • The total 200hr Embodied Awareness Teacher Training Fee ( the “Fee”) is either:
    • £2995 when paid in full; or
    • £3300 when using payment plan, as described in clause 2.d. below.
  • Both payment options include a £250 non-refundable and non-transferable deposit (the “Deposit”).
  • The Student must pay the Deposit and email faye@shekhar.yoga stating whether full payment will be made for the remainder £2745
  • The conditions of using the Shekhar Yoga Payment Plan (the “Payment Plan”) are set out below:

Each instalment must be received by Shekhar Yoga as follows:

  • First instalment £1016 by Dec 31st 2026
  • Second instalment £1016 by March 31st 2026;
  • Third instalment £1016 by June 30th 2026.
  • Or an agreed plan via email
  • Shekhar Yoga will approve the Student’s Payment Plan with proof of Standing Order or proof of post-dated bank transfers.
  • If the Student decides to leave the Training after the Training Start Date (Oct 2026) the full Fee is still due to Shekhar Yoga.
  • The full Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable except at the sole discretion of Shekhar Yoga
  • All payments to Shekhar Yoga are to be made by bank transfer. The ShekharYoga  account details are as follows:

The Student must notify Shekhar Yoga within 24 hours of each bank transfer by e-mail to faye@shekhar.yoga, confirming transfer details and including the reference used. e.g.: K Jones instal 2

The Student will not be enrolled on the Training until:

i. the Student has been offered a place by Faye; and

ii. this Terms & Conditions Agreement (the “Agreement”) has been signed by the

Student and received by Shekhar Yoga; and either

iii. the full Fee has been received by Shekhar Yoga; or

iv. the Payment Plan has been approved by Shekhar Yoga.

If the Student fails to pay the full Fee or Payment Plan installments by the agreed dates, Shekhar Yoga reserves the right to revoke the Student’s place on the Training. Cancellation terms and conditions in clause 4 will apply.

Additional expenses incurred in relation to the Training such as travel expenses, yoga mats, incidentals, meals, equipment and materials/book requirements are not included in the cost of the Training and are the Student’s sole responsibility.

3. The Training

  • The Training will commence in Oct 2026 (the “Training Start Date”).
  • The Training will consist of 10 modules taking place on the following dates:
  • WE1: 31st Oct & 1st Nov
  • WE2: 5th & 6th Dec
  • WE3: 2nd & 3rd Jan
  • WE4: 23rd & 24th Jan
  • WE5: 6th & 7th Feb
  • WE6:13th & 14th March
  • WE7: 3rd & 4th April
  • WE8: 08th & 9th May
  • WE9: 05th & 06th June
  • Mock Assessment Day : July 3rd Assessment Day : July 4th
  • Third Monday of the month 6-7pm ONLINE
  • Graduation Completion and celebration: TBC
  • The Training includes a minimum of 180 contact hours with Faye Shekhar and guest speakers and 20 non-contact hours. The Training venue for our 3 day retreat will be notified to the Student by email prior to the Training Start Date.
  • As part of the Training, the Student will receive a Shekhar Yoga Training Manual
  • Additional workshops, classes and retreats may be offered or recommended by Shekhar Yoga or the guest teachers during the Training. These recommendations are not compulsory or included in the cost of the Training and if undertaken, will be at the Student’s own expense.

4. Cancellation and Refund

  • The Student may cancel this Agreement and their place on the Training by notifying Shekhar Yoga within 14 days of the Agreement Signing Date (the “Cancellation Period”). Shekhar Yoga will refund the Training Fee, or any amount paid, in full (including the Deposit) within 14 days of receiving notice. (please note that there are no flexible exceptions to this clause even by 24hrs)
  • To end this Agreement please call Faye on 07811112096, in the first instance, and then confirm cancellation in writing via email at faye@shekhar.yoga When canceling this Agreement in writing, the Student must provide their name, address, phone number, email address, bank details and details of the payment option they selected on intake. The refund will be made by bank transfer.
  • If the Student wishes to end this Agreement outside of the Cancellation Period but before the Training Start Date, the following will apply.
  • The Student will not be entitled to a refund of the Training Fee or Deposit and if using the Payment Plan all remaining instalments will continue to be due;
  • If Shekhar Yoga finds another Student to take the original Student’s place, a refund of the Training Fee will be made minus the Deposit.
  • In exceptional circumstances Shekhar Yoga will offer the Student a credit of the Training Fee less the Deposit for a future Training of equivalent value. Please note that this credit must be used before the second anniversary of the date of cancellation, and subject to availability.
  • In the unlikely event that there is no further Training scheduled, this credit may be used within the Shekhar Yoga Offerings.
  • If Shekhar Yoga receives the Student’s written notice to end this Agreement after the Training Start Date, Shekhar Yoga will NOT refund the Training Fee or Deposit and the Student will not be entitled to any credit.
  • Subject to clause 5, in the event that the Student begins the Training but does not attend all weekends in full for any reason, the Student will not be eligible for any refund or credit from Shekhar Yoga .
  • In the event that Shekhar Yoga cancels the Training, except for a “force majeure” event as detailed at clause 8, Shekhar Yoga will refund the Training Fee, including the Deposit.

 5. Attendance & Certification

a) Training is accredited by Yoga Teachers Together. On successful completion of the Training, the Student will be awarded the Shekhar Yoga Teacher Training Certificate (the “Certificate”). With the award of the Certificate, Shekhar Yoga will also supply the Student with the Shekhar Yoga Guidelines and Standards, which must be adhered to in the event that the Student identify themselves as a holder of the Certificate.

b) In order to be awarded the Certificate, the Student must meet the following criteria:

  • Subject to clauses 5.c. & 5.d. below, 100% attendance of the Training, equating to 180

contact hours with SSY and guest teachers and 20 hours of non-contact time;

  1. Satisfactory completion of all SY coursework including 
  2. Satisfactory completion of the assessed SY teaching practicum and assessments throughout the Training in accordance with the standards set in the SY manual;
  3. Adherence to the standards of personal conduct and ethical behaviour set out in the SY Manual

c) In the event of an emergency or illness and at the discretion of SY a maximum of two days of the Training can be missed (with the exception of Mock assessment or Graduation day). For each day, missed the Student will need to compensate the hours missed by attending a private 1hr session at the fee of £60.00 per hour with Faye or other teachers outside of the Training (but within the Training timeline) on dates to be agreed with Faye

d) Lateness. In the event that the Student is late by five minutes or over, more than twice (two exceptions only are made here for unavoidable calamities) the Student will be required to take an additional 1-1 session with Faye at the cost of £60.00 per hour as catch up compensation for the disruption the Student’s lateness has had on the facilitation of the group. (See SY Manual for more information on this clause)

6. Medical information

  • The Student must complete the Training Application and a health questionnaire (sent separately) provided by SY correctly, fully, accurately and honestly to the best of their ability.
  • By submitting the form, the Student represents that they have not withheld any relevant information and that the Student will promptly notify SY of any changes in their health or medical circumstances.
  • Yoga Teacher Training can have a powerful and transformative impact and as such Faye wants all of the SYTT Students to be aware that they may need external emotional and mental support throughout this course. Due to this, it is mandatory that the Student has organised this support, whether family member, close friend or qualified therapist.
  • Any health information the Student provides will be kept confidential by SY and individually by Faye and SY guest teachers.

 7. Cancellation by SY and events outside of our control

  • If SY has to cancel any part of the Training, for example, due to unforeseen venue closures or any force majeure event as defined in clause 8.b., SY reserve the right to reschedule the Training times and locations and will notify the Student of the new times and locations as soon as possible.
  • SY shall not be held responsible for or accept any liability where the performance and/or prompt performance of their obligations to the Student is prevented by or affected by a “force majeure” event. In this Agreement a “force majeure” event means any event, which SY could not foresee or avoid. Such events are likely to include (but are not limited to) fire, flood, adverse weather conditions, terrorist activity, war or threat of war, civil strife, riot, industrial dispute, natural, nuclear, chemical or biological disaster, and all similar events outside of our control.

 8. Termination of Training

a. SY reserves the right to refuse admission onto any Training or to terminate any Student’s training at any time during the Training, without refunding the Training Fee, in cases where, in the reasonable opinion of Faye or guest teacher, the Student behaves in an unethical, inappropriate or otherwise unacceptable manner and/or engages in misconduct, or obstructive behaviour, including but not limited to disrupting the group dynamic, acting out, drug or alcohol abuse, sabotage of the Training in ways such as grooming other people to denigrate the training or deliberate instigation of negative gossip about either the teachers or other participants. This is vital for the health of the training to be preserved. If the Student has a concern about the content of the training or other participants, please raise it directly with Faye and not in clique culture.

b. In circumstances where SY terminates the Student’s Training, no certification will be granted and the Student will not have the right to utilise any of the SY material, which must be returned to SY promptly.

9. Copyright

The copyright and any other intellectual property rights in all materials and SY Training content made available to the Student, including all written documents and other materials in any form distributed by SY and including but not limited to the Training manual are owned and controlled by SY and are to be used exclusively for the Student’s personal learning only and are not to be reproduced, replicated, distributed or otherwise utilised as a platform for being a teacher of teachers without prior written consent from SY.

10. Venue

SSY shall not be held responsible for theft and/or loss and/or damage to the Student’s personal belongings at the venues used for Training. All items or personal belongings shall be left at the Student’s own risk.

11. Miscellaneous

This Agreement is personal to the Student and SY and is not intended to confer any rights of enforcement on any third party. The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 shall not apply to this Agreement.

If any part of this Agreement is determined to be void, voidable, invalid, inoperative or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction or by any other legally constituted body having jurisdiction to make such determination the remainder of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

This Agreement shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with the law of England and Wales. The parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Any amendment or variation hereto must be in writing and signed by both parties.
